Plectra

Privacy policy

Last updated: 7 June 2026 · Version v1-2026-06-07

This policy describes what information Plectra collects about you, how it is used, who it is shared with, and what rights you have over it. Plectra is the business operated by Axle Radar LLC (“Plectra,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

1. What we collect

Account information. Your email address, display name, password hash, and account-creation timestamp.

Profile information. Anything you choose to fill in on your member profile — this is voluntary.

Community content. Posts, comments, and group memberships you create within a Plectra community.

Billing metadata. Which curator communities you subscribe to, your current subscription status, your plan, and the timestamp of your last charge. We do not hold your card number — that stays with Stripe.

Server logs. IP address, user-agent, request paths, and timestamps, retained on a rolling basis for operational purposes.

Transactional email. Records of the emails Plectra sends you (password set, subscription confirmation, and similar).

2. How we use it

To provide the service: operate your account, give you access to the communities you subscribe to, and send you transactional emails you have requested.

To maintain security and integrity: detect abuse, investigate reported violations, and protect other members.

To comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not analyze your content to build a profile for sale to third parties.

3. Who we share it with

Stripe. Payment processing. Stripe receives your email address and identity information for fraud prevention and regulatory compliance. Stripe is a service provider, not a data broker. See Stripe’s privacy policy.

Postmark. Transactional email. Postmark receives your email address and the content of emails we send you.

Hetzner Cloud.Hosting. Plectra’s infrastructure and your data are hosted on servers in the European Union.

Your community’s curator. The curator of any community you join has access to your display name, profile, posts, and group membership within that community. This is a functional requirement of community operation, not a sale.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with anyone else except as required by law.

4. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. You may also request a portable copy of data you have given us. Send requests to dom@dom.net. We will respond within 45 days. For requests that require identity verification, we will ask you to confirm from the email address on your account.

California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), you have the right to know what categories of personal information we collect and how we use them; to request deletion; to request correction; and to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. California residents may also submit a Shine the Light request to learn about any personal information we have shared with third parties for direct-marketing purposes; we do not share for that purpose.

EU and UK residents. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR, you have rights of access, erasure, rectification, portability, restriction, and objection. Plectra is the data controller for your account information. For data in your community, you and your curator are co-controllers. Our legal bases for processing are performing our contract with you (running your account and community access), our legitimate interests (security and abuse prevention), and compliance with the law. Where your data is accessed from outside the European Union, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or another approved safeguard. To exercise your rights, write to dom@dom.net. If you believe your rights have not been respected, you may lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.

Do Not Track. Plectra does not respond to Do Not Track browser signals because it does not engage in cross-site tracking.

5. Retention

Account and content data are retained while your account is active. Server logs are retained on a rolling operational basis. After you close your account, Plectra will delete your personal information within 90 days, except where retention is required by law or to resolve a pending dispute.

6. Security

Plectra uses appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss. No measure is perfect; if Plectra becomes aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you as required by law.

7. Children

Plectra is for members who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have done so, we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. The current version is always at this URL.
